Fordham University – one of the most famous and beautiful universities in the US, stretched out on a luxurious green area of 340 hectares in the Rose Hill West Bronx area, in the immediate vicinity of Manhattan. The West Bronx is famous for its parks and apartments of wealthy New Yorkers – perhaps, one of the greenest and cozy places of the metropolis, perfectly suitable for family holidays. The center of Manhattan is 10-15 minutes away by bus. The territory of the University of Fordeau traditionally ranks first in the unofficial rating of "The Littest Campuses of American Colleges". Here, an endless number of films are being shot for many years. Beautiful neo-Gothic buildings, covered with ivy, flowering gardens and ancient paths, create an excellent atmosphere for learning and relaxing. Ford University is one of the top 50 universities in the United States on all ratings and takes the first place in the country to produce interns. In summer, the Summer International Children's Program is organized on the basis of the University, organized by the ZUMA Education Language Center, with the participation of children from Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Russia and other European countries.
Accommodation: in double rooms with private facilities. In the summer, the University offers in its residence modern rooms for participants in the language program, expecting children to take care of numbers and maintain cleanliness and order. Room cleaning and linen change takes place weekly.

Main program:
We invite children from 13 years of age to the Fordham University program in the USA. Recommended language level – Pre-Intermediate and above. The whole program (English classes, sports, creative activities and excursions) is conducted entirely in English. Excursion program – very busy, participants are waiting for daily walks around New York.

- English Language Course:
The course includes 20 academic hours of classes per week in international groups up to 12 people.
Classes are held from 9.00 to 12.15, 5 days a week.
On the first day of school, a language test is conducted at the college, according to which the children are assigned to study groups. A transition to another group is possible if the participant in the program is too easy or difficult for his teacher. At the end of the course, each participant is given an official certificate confirming the level of English proficiency. Classes always include project activities, which allows children to carefully study the studied material in an international peer group. The subjects of the classes are often combined with guided tours and activities in English on this day, which makes learning as effective and interesting as possible.
- Sports program.
We offer a wide range of sports – football, volleyball, basketball, team games, frisbee, softball, swimming pool, dancing.
- Entertaining program.
In the evening, camp games and events take place in an international atmosphere – evenings of talents, creative festivals, discos, show programs and business games, toy libraries and parties! On the tours are youth flash mobs and city quests, and tireless leader groups arrange daily surprises and games every day!
- Excursion program.
The participants of the Fordham University children's camp are waiting for a rich excursion program in New York, tours are held almost every day. The program includes: Manhattan, Empire State Building, West Side, American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Metropolitan Museum, Times Square, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island Cruise and Statue of Liberty, Brighton Beach, Little Italy, China , Greenwich Village, the Bronx Zoo, Soho and 5th Avenue shops and even a NY Yankees baseball team ticket (ticket included)!
Entrance fees are not included (except baseball).
We offer a package of entrance tickets “ Discovery ” ($ 280), which allows you to save considerably the cost of entrance tickets on the spot.
Additional excursions are also offered on Sundays: Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Niagara Falls.

Благодарим за обратную связь и за уделенное время для обсуждения проблемных моментов по телефону.
По нашему опыту можем отметить, что отношение к телефонам в лагере у родителей бывает максимально противоположным. Иногда наличие/отсутствие телефонов даже является основным критерием при выборе лагеря: кому-то принципиально важно, чтобы ребенок всегда был в доступе, а кому-то наоборот, особенно, когда у ребенка отмечается так называемая «зависимость» от гаджетов.
В нашем лагере нет практики забирать телефон у детей во время смены, однако вожатые могут прибегнуть к этой мере, если наличие телефонов мешает проведению программы – перед заездом мы отвечали на этот вопрос.
В случае с Александром после того, как Вы связались с нами, мы забрали телефон на день, а после этого стали забирать во время основных мероприятий у всего младшего отряда, так как конкретно на этой смене это было обоснованно - дети действительно много отвлекались на телефон.
Территория ДОЛ «Золотая Долина» предполагает размещение коттеджного типа, поэтому все дети размещаются в домиках. В течение дня дети заняты на мероприятиях, в командной и групповой работе, поэтому часто что-то готовят командами в своих коттеджах. При этом у вожатых есть доступ ко всем коттеджам в любой момент; вожатые постоянно проверяют домики, в том числе обходят территорию после отбоя и в ночное время.
Супницы у деток стоят на столах, и они наливают себе суп самостоятельно, но мы обязательно ещё раз проговорим с командой, что на это нужно неоднократно обращать внимание детей.
Касательно английского: как мы с Вами обсудили, возможно, Александр воспринимал английский как что-то простое, потому что занятия были в игровой форме, а не в привычном формате уроков.
Сожалеем, что ситуация с телефонами стала основной проблемой, из-за которой испортилось общее впечатление о лагере. Если в дальнейшем Александр поедет на смену, мы будем уделять этому вопросу больше внимания.
