The whole program (English classes, sports, creative activities, excursions) is fully in English and involves maximum immersion in the language environment. Information about the school in York.
St Peter's School is located in the center of York, a 5-minute walk from the city's central square. The historical building of the school was founded in 627 and is one of the three oldest boarding schools in Great Britain! During the year the school functions as a private international boarding school for talented children. The school always has a friendly, free atmosphere. During the summer period, UKLC (United Kingdom Language Courses), the UK's largest language center, organizes language courses based on St Peter's School for 150 children from around the world.
The basic principle of St Peter's program is School – impeccability in everything: high level of studies, excellent food with a wide choice of dishes and fresh fruits, clean comfortable rooms, quality creative activities and projects, ample opportunities for sports, spectacular excursions. All classrooms and lounges – ideal purity, combining modern technologies (interactive whiteboards, webcams, Wi-fi points) with traditional fireplaces and carpets.

King ’ s College London – the world famous college of London, founded in 1829. King's College claims to be the third oldest university in England after Oxford &Cambridge University. King's College is recognized as one of the world's leading universities in the field of education and research. In the ranking of the best universities in the world, the college ranks 7th among European universities and 27th in the world. In summer, a children's language program is held on the territory of the college, inviting children from around the world. The College is located 9 minutes by metro from central London; Residential building – a 10-minute walk from the college.
Accommodation: In York, 2-4-bed rooms with private facilities on the block; on each floor of the residence there are also several 1-bed rooms that are populated upon request and availability of seats. In London, single rooms with private facilities. All rooms are equipped with modern furniture and heating. Residences and lounges are located in the residences. A 24-hour security guard and a doctor on duty are on site.
Food: 3-times hot, with a wide selection of meat and fish dishes, salads, vegetables and fruits, desserts; Vegetarian meals are available on request. A full lunch can be provided for a packed lunch.

Security and health services:
The program provides 24-hour assistance and medical care for children. On the territory of the school there is a doctor on duty and 24-hour professional protection.
Accompanying STB Tours (groups-leaders) is our special pride. They accompany the group from Moscow, solve any domestic problems and school situations, help children to adapt to the program, organize bright creative events, work together with the organizers of the language school, help in rallying and emancipating
Main program:
English language course. The English language course includes 20 academic hours of classes per week in international groups of up to 14 people. On the first day of school, a language test is conducted at the school, according to which the children are distributed according to the training groups. A transition to another group is possible if the participant in the program is too easy or difficult for his teacher. Classes are conducted by experienced British teachers with the highest qualification of teaching English as a foreign language. In the third week in London, the children continue the English course, and at the end of the program each participant is given an official certificate confirming the level of English proficiency.
Additional special courses. St Peter's School offers free optional courses, if desired, for a choice of participants lasting 2 weeks:
- English + Football . Football lessons with professional English coaches. The guys get an opportunity to study in international teams in the country with one of the world's most famous football stories! Classes include the development of the technique of ball possession and team play, practical training, lessons on tactics and football matches with subsequent analysis of the game. At the end of the program, children receive a UK certificate of completion of the football course.
- English + Dance . Dance classes are conducted by professional choreographers. Camp participants learn modern dance directions – street-dance, Contemporary, jazz-modern, the West End. At the end of the course the participants put the final dance show on stage for the whole camp. For children who are fond of dancing, or just wanting to develop dance skills, this is an excellent opportunity not only to undergo a course under the guidance of British choreographers, but also to make friends with like-minded people from other countries and to put several dances in an international children's collective!
- English + Drama . Classes with theatrical art with a professional children's director. For children who are interested in theater, this is an excellent chance to not only master the skills of acting (mimicry, stage speech, improvisation), but also to take part in staging the performance in English, which ends the course. This course is also very useful from the point of view of the development of spoken English speech and the setting of a classic British accent.
- English + Intensive English . For children who want to maximize the English language skills on the program, in addition to the main morning course, additional classes are offered. They include in-depth project work, the specific use of English in different situations, the maximum practice of speaking. Additional English hours will be taken into account in the certificate issued at the end of the program.
Any member of the program can also keep the overall program of events English + Multi - Activity , which includes daily team games, sports events, creative sections.

Sports program: In York, a modern indoor 25-meter pool, gym, climbing wall, tennis courts, football fields, volleyball and basketball courts are available for children. In London, on the basis of the college there is a modern sports hall and a play area.
Entertainment program. The camp hosts a huge number of games in English with peers from different countries, creative festivals, song contests, sports relay races – boring is not a minute! For older children in York, in addition to a creative and entertaining program, international discussion clubs, project work in youth groups, negotiation skills, meetings with famous people of York are offered. Often such meetings and gatherings are held in the old English cafes, literary clubs in York. In London, in the evening, after the excursions, there is a Toy Library, talent contests and theme discos!
Excursion ./nbsp; There are 2 half-day excursions and 2 full-day excursions per week in York – historical center and dungeons of York, Yorkvik Viking Center, York Railway Museum, Manchester with a visit to the Old Trafford Stadium and the Manchester United Football Museum, Howard Castle, Whitby, barge Endeavor &Leeds. In London, city tours take place every day after classes - the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, historical museums, Greenwich and a trip to Cambridge for a full day on Saturday. All excursions are conducted in English. Добрый день!
Благодарим за обратную связь и за уделенное время для обсуждения проблемных моментов по телефону.
По нашему опыту можем отметить, что отношение к телефонам в лагере у родителей бывает максимально противоположным. Иногда наличие/отсутствие телефонов даже является основным критерием при выборе лагеря: кому-то принципиально важно, чтобы ребенок всегда был в доступе, а кому-то наоборот, особенно, когда у ребенка отмечается так называемая «зависимость» от гаджетов.
В нашем лагере нет практики забирать телефон у детей во время смены, однако вожатые могут прибегнуть к этой мере, если наличие телефонов мешает проведению программы – перед заездом мы отвечали на этот вопрос.
В случае с Александром после того, как Вы связались с нами, мы забрали телефон на день, а после этого стали забирать во время основных мероприятий у всего младшего отряда, так как конкретно на этой смене это было обоснованно - дети действительно много отвлекались на телефон.
Территория ДОЛ «Золотая Долина» предполагает размещение коттеджного типа, поэтому все дети размещаются в домиках. В течение дня дети заняты на мероприятиях, в командной и групповой работе, поэтому часто что-то готовят командами в своих коттеджах. При этом у вожатых есть доступ ко всем коттеджам в любой момент; вожатые постоянно проверяют домики, в том числе обходят территорию после отбоя и в ночное время.
Супницы у деток стоят на столах, и они наливают себе суп самостоятельно, но мы обязательно ещё раз проговорим с командой, что на это нужно неоднократно обращать внимание детей.
Касательно английского: как мы с Вами обсудили, возможно, Александр воспринимал английский как что-то простое, потому что занятия были в игровой форме, а не в привычном формате уроков.
Сожалеем, что ситуация с телефонами стала основной проблемой, из-за которой испортилось общее впечатление о лагере. Если в дальнейшем Александр поедет на смену, мы будем уделять этому вопросу больше внимания.
