HCS can be found in the region of Valais, probably the most famous region of the Swiss Alps. The region is famous for its winter sports (skiing, snowboarding), its Summer sports (hiking) and is the land of one the Matterhorn, the world’s most famous mountain for its unique shape, standing at over 4800 metres!
HCS is located in the resort of Ovronnaz which is a well-known family resort. Unlike some other resorts, Ovronnaz has kept its family spirit and its proximity to Swiss traditional culture. The resort is very famous for its Alpine Spa, its hot whirlpool overlooking the Valais and offering a grand view of the Alps.
The campers will stay in a traditional Swiss Summer camp’s accommodation chalet so they will have the opportunity to sample a real Swiss experience.
Although it is a traditional camp’s accommodation there are also modern luxuries such as a game room, cinema room, theatre room, study rooms and is surrounded by excellent sport facilities including a swimming pool, spa, and located right next to an alpine forest.
Ovronnaz is graced by the beautiful Swiss Alps and has all the sports and cultural facilities a camper could desire: Swimming pool (34 degrees!), tennis courts, sports halls, football fields, Via ferrata, adventure trails, and a whole lot more!

Main program:
Language Courses
Languages are an important part of our camp and we want it to be fun!
Campers can choose between intensively learning 1 language per session (15 hours per week) or 2 languages (1 major 10 hours per week and 1 minor 5 hours per week)
The languages we offer are:
French is the language spoken in the region of Valais-Ovronnaz. The locals and half of the staff are native speakers. It would be a very good option to choose this language as it is spoken in the village and the surrounding area!
German is the first spoken language in Switzerland. Many locals and part of the staff speak it natively. Also we will do many excursions in the Swiss German part so campers can have many opportunities to speak it with Swiss people!
English, with French is the main language of the camp. All staff speak it fluently and half are native speakers. Also most campers use it to communicate between themselves so it is definitely a great opportunity to learn English and become fluent while having fun on holiday!
Chinese as you probably know is NOT a Swiss nor European language; however more and more international schools are encouraging students to learn it for their future development and life opportunities. With the option to choose it as a minor language you will have the chance to learn the basic of the most widely spoken language in the world and it is fun!!!
Hiking
Hikes are organized regularly during the session. Campers go on half-day or full-day hikes. The trails we choose are only the marked ones and well experienced counselors or local guides lead the groups.
Hiking groups are divided according to age and are paced accordingly. Once during their stay, campers hike up to a mountain hut at an altitude above 2500 meters where they will be taught to read a map, camp craft and outdoor cooking.
Campers stay overnight in the hut where all commodities are provided. Not only do we choose trails offering the most beautiful scenery but also during hikes we organize barbecues, and fun picnics.
Water Sports
HCS has its own whirlpool jacuzzi to relax after a fun day of hiking and is located just next to an alpine hot pool and spa where campers have free access during the session (always accompanied by counselors).
During the session we will also visit other alpine pools where games and entertainment will offer a blast to the campers. As we love fun we will also go to Lake Geneva for a fun day of kayaking and banana boat!
