Chess Intellectual Teenage Out of town For children 7 - 15 years old

In summer, New school will hold three chess intensive courses. Children will learn the history and different styles of chess, learn the necessary soft skills and, of course, play. Not only with each other, but also with real grandmasters: the world Chess Club will be attended by the champion of Peru, the head coach of the Russian chess school Georgy Castaneda.

New School is located in the 8 minutes walking distance from the metro station Ramenki. New School has united the teachers of the strongest schools in Moscow and Russia to create a space in which children will become conscious, thinking people who independently make decisions and bear responsibility for them. In the afternoon, New School opens its doors to everyone and becomes an educational and cultural center: lectures, meetings with interesting people, concerts, and courses for children and adults are held here. And on vacation days, New School traditionally holds intensives — five-day themed camps where the child can immerse himself in the chosen topic and how to acquire narrow special skills, or to pump out the wide skills of the 21st century.

Shift schedule:

Chess & Skills (June 10-14)
In the form of a game we will study strategy, tactics and typical chess positions. We will participate in team-building games and trainings, walk and play sports, and then we will play with children of our age and level at the rapid tournament.

Every day we will take another small step towards the title of grandmaster and train the necessary soft skills: attention, memory, speed of thinking, creativity — skills that will be useful in any situation, not only in chess.

World Chess Club (8-12 July)
Each day of this intensive will be dedicated to one of the four parts of the world: North, South, West or East. In the last, fifth day we will devote to summarizing and chess tournament. We will get acquainted with the chess culture of different countries, learn the styles of play of great chess players, analyze the best practises. And take all this knowledge to note for their own games, which will be engaged in parallel.

Art & Chess (July 15-19)
At this workshop we will reveal our creativity and ability to generate original ideas. In some classes we will play chess, and in others — look at them from the point of view of modern art. Teachers in the creative classes will be professional artists and designers (mainly graduates of the British higher school of design).
